Derek is eager to get married, but his girlfriend Kaitlyn is reluctant to take the plunge. But not because she doesn’t love him, but because she hasn’t had every sexual experience she has longed for. The antique engagement ring he gives her is her permission to step outside their relationship. Carol’s words brought up Kaitlyn’s eyes. “What?”

 

“It’s a test.”

 

“What do you mean?”

 

“You’ve had sex with another woman before?” Carol asked and stood up.

 

“Umm…not exactly.”

 

“By which you mean no.” Carol had already removed her suit jacket and now kicked off her shoes.

 

“Right.”

 

“But you say you want to, correct?”

 

“Uh, yeah, that’s right.” Kaitlyn swallowed the last of her wine. She knew exactly what Carol was getting at but she couldn’t face what her new acquaintance was suggesting.

 

“This is your test, then.” Carol proceeded to unbutton her blue and white striped blouse exposing her white lace bra. “If you can’t have sex with me right here, right now, then perhaps you’re not ready to sew your wild oats.”
