Interesting podcast from On The Media about publishing in general and how ebooks might be destroying the publishing industry.

Does my stock rise or fall on the fact that I heard this on NPR because that's the only station I listen to when in my car?
Really, it's just a marketing tool to sell more ebooks. Since I only write erotica, this will occasionally contain adult content.

Milk title and cover
Latest title up on PubIt and KDP. Also, a probably more risque cover than I've used in the past. It's amazing what can be connoted with a few simple graphics. We'll see if Amazon or B&N have a problem with the cover. Since I don't have a backup plan for it right now, I hope it's accepted.
Can you figure out what's being implied?
Here's the link to the B&N page:

New: A Virgin Sacrifice
Next title up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Here's the link to the Amazon page: A Virgin Sacrifice. A little different from my other stuff, but I really like the cover to this one.

New: The Red Collar
New title up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, The Red Collar. Ritualized BDSM in a contemporary setting. This is a longer work, 58,000 words, so I bumped the price of it to $2.99. A lot more bang for the buck than my previous 15,000 novelettes for $0.99.
Apparently erotica can be commodified. I just put a price on it.

Something that has always bugged me, the vague and misleading terms used by some authors to describe the length of their work. Now, while there is no one set official designation for any fiction classification, labeling a 5000 word short story a novella is just wrong. I've searched the internet for a consensus of what descriptor reflects an accurate word count and what I've gotten is:
microfiction: up to 100 words
flash fiction: 100-1000
short story: 1000 - 7500
novelette: 7500 - 20,000
novella: 20,000 - 50,000
novel: 50,000 - 110,000
epic: 110,000 +
Which is fine, but who decided on 110,000 words being the top end of a novel?
